Typically, we see a wavy pattern on the back side of a traditional single bevel Japanese knife where hagane meets jigane.
I am talking about the patten for kasumi knives.
Does anyone know how it is created?
Is the pattern really showing the boundary between jigane and hagane?
or
Is it just "patterned" with some kind of etching agent?
Thanks. K
