Stuck at home with an infection at the moment so I've been reading a lot of cookbooks between climbing the walls. I was skimming through Shizuo Tsuji's "Japanese Cooking, A Simple Art" and it's got me keen to pick up some new Japanese books.

Was looking at some of Hideo Dakura's stuff, but other than that I'm not too familiar with what's out there. I'd been keen to hear any recommendations. Can be general street food/home cooking or high end kaiseki stuff; anything that's an interesting read....and ideally is well photographed 'cause I have a short attention span

Cheers in advance,
Josh

Aye, got that one unfortunately. It is a brilliant book though.

I like Elizabeth Andoh, "Washoku: Recipes from the Japanese Home Kitchen."

+1. Murata's book is a good read. Tetsuya is pretty good too, if a little dated. I also enjoy Gower's The Breakaway Japanese Kitchen. It's kinda fun. Unfortunately, the best Japanese cookbooks are only in Japanese.
