Talking Hi: Please help me identify this knife

    Hi Everyone,

So glad to join these forums. I'm wondering if someone could help me identify the following knife? I'm trying to purchase a replacement because I chipped the edge of the knife accidentally. Any help would be great!

    That's a Kikuichi.

    Thanks

Thanks for the identification. Is there a chance you know, which series within the Kikuichi brand? I know for example, that for wusthof, they have both a classics line and a gourmet line. One is significantly more expensive than the other.

Wow, major chip out of the heel of that edge!

To be honest, with the place the chip is, will it affect you that much?

Also, how did you do that?

It doesn't, but it may affect the owner. I was slicing the shell of a coconut.

Was that thing rehandled? I went through the entire Kikuichi product line and was unable to find a handle match, or any mention of a "DP GOLD" model. Maybe it's a prototype?

The blade shape, finish, handle, and general look is very much like the basic Tojiro DP home line. OEM for Kikuichi, maybe?
