I repaired and sharpened a 270mm Sujihiki for a friend one time. I think it came out really well. I wanna say it was like sg2 or some other pm steel. Took a screaming sharp edge.

I have a Takamura Petty made with SG2 and it's awesome!! Well worth the money I spent.

I've got a takamura gyuto I picked up in Japan, takes a great edge and keeps it well

I had a Takamura Hana petty. Very nice fit and finish, no sharp edges on the spine or choil area. Good grind on the blade. Nice damascus pattern. The wood on the handle was nothing remarkable. It took and kept an edge very well. I let a friend have it because he really liked it, and I miss it.

I had a 240 mm Takamura HSPS Pro Sujihiki,
love it so much, laser with very sharp edge and nice edge retention.
I plan to get another Takamura HSPS PRo gyuto as well.
