stainless(HH), semi-stainless(HD/HD2)

Are either of the gyutos appropriate for a left hander?

I can't imagine there would be an asymmetrical grind on either without the seller mentioning it, so both should still be 50/50 double bevel knives. Perfect for ambidextrous cutting or dual wielding.

Looking at pictures you may notice Shigefusa comes with right-handed D handle and that woudn't be comfortable for most lefties.
Konosuke has octagon handle which should be fine for everyone.

As for the grind, I believe it was Jon who said something like: "if it's 50/50 — it's not a gyuto", which means most gyuto's has asymmetrical grid.

Good eye! I just scanned the descriptions real quick. :lol2:

I'd say the Konosuke would be fine for a lefty, I've got a Kono HD and it's no problem at all

Hello all,
Sorry for the lacks of descriptions,

both of gyuto are " 50/50" double bevel.
and Shigefusa gyuto come with OCTAGONAL CHESTNUT WA HANDLE, not "D" shape, sorry for the shxty quality pictures that confused you.

And price drops:

2.Shigefusa Gyuto $360 shipped.

Not I have personal experience with these knives but with the Konosuke HH being so thin I would imagine it wouldn't make a huge difference if you were a lefty. I have one thin carbon gyuto and it has a strong right hand bias but its not noticeable to me.
