I think one of my buddies has a broken king 800, would there be any success in trying to make and use finger stones out of it?

I've used bits and pieces from a King 800 that I dropped. It doesn't work great for fingerstones, in my experience.

There's a King Neo 800 that Tools from Japan sells. Is this a different stone altogether? The description says "more of a ceramic stone".

    Who else sells King stones?

The King Neo 800x stone was designed to sharpen, and is marketed for, stainless specifically. It's supposed to be a splash 'n go stone - doesn't soak up water.

Dave would certainly be vendor of choice for those in the states. And this is his sub-forum. Kind of tacky to be looking for shopping advice here.

Not only a great stone but the Fact that it comes in the big block version is a huge plus (pun intended), it's a great stone to work with. I would say it would be my "if you could only have one stone" stone
