I just finished adding a new batch of Tiger Maple blocks to our web store. These blocks were professionally stabilized by K&G.
Tiger Maple is not a type of maple, but a type of figured maple. Curly maple that shows figure on all sides is cut flat sawn so it shows tiger stripes on the faces and strong curl on the edges. This type of figure looks best when used with hidden tang type knife handles.
These blocks have a very clean blonde coloring and good chatoyant figure.
