    Steak board

    This steak board was made from European oak. The groove depth is 5 mm. I used furniture profile router bit to round the groove edges.
    The similar board was sent to KKF member, London.

    That's really nice. I like the small whitish lines in the grain pattern - what causes them?

    These are medullary rays. They are very visible in the oak wood.

    It mentions how quartersawing really brings them out, have you done that?

    You can see them as rays at end grain surfaces and like this at edge grain
