Hi all,

I've been looking trough some forums for a while, to do some research before I'm going to buy my first gyuto.
I'm a chemistry student with a love for cooking and experimenting, especially for my friends or the rugbyclub and so on.
This will be my first step into owning a proper knife.
I have very little knife skills, but I'm willing to learn/try out a pinch grip technique if it suits me.
What I'm aiming for is to handle a knife with precision and also learn how to maintain and sharpen a knife properly.
It seems that this forum has everything in it to get me going :)

I believe there are already a member or two from Eindhoven here on KKF, so you might get some help sharpening locally.

I'm not sure it's safe to trust you… with all those coffeeshops around it's very easy to change your mind. Or even loose your mind :)

Well, it does keep us peaceful and quiet :) . And to steer the topic back on track: what knife should one use to cut a space cake? :wink:
