Waterstone suggestions

Am new to sharpening and was planning on ordering Dave's set of stones (as well as a diamond plate to flatten):
Beston 500x
Bester 1200x
Suehiro Rika 5k

Whilst I've managed to find a place to get two of the stones, I can't seem to find anywhere that ships the 'Beston 500x' to the UK.

I'm planning on ordering from here:

Just wondering if anyone could suggest a good alternative to the 'Beston 500x' that is sold by 'tools from japan'?

+1 on Maksim. You could also just get yourself from Maksim the 300, 800 and Red Aoto (synthetic) and would have as good sharpening as as possible. BTW Maksim has a very nice sale prices on all the stones mentioned right now.

I have bought several items from both Maksim and fine-tools - both get my recommendation.

Thanks for the links. Have now checked out those two websites, however they do seem quite a bit pricier than what I was hoping for (at least for the moment since I'm a beginner just staring out sharpening).

Since this will be my first set I thought I'd just get a set of stones from one place (and therefore avoid having to pay multiple shipping charges).

The only stone missing from the 'tools from japan' website is the 'beston 500x' so I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with a stone of similar cutting performance to the beston 500x that's sold by 'tools from japan'?

Chosera 400 isnt to bad. Maybe shapton pro 320.

Hi MK I just got a beston / bester 500 from metal master in Japan. Good price and after lapping cuts like a good un.

I would really like to buy from Japanese stones but the
Delivery charges are prohibitive if you don't exceed the minimum spend
