    Is this finish required to use chemical to bring out the look?
    Does Shigefusa use chemical?

    No etching, just natural stone polish to bring out the contrast.

    No, he uses a natural stone finish.

    Yes, thats what he says. Shig polishes their blades with natural stones to get this finish.

    Which one? If you are asking about the V2 tamamoku, that is also done just with stones.
