Anyone uses this medium stone for sharpening? I don't think I ever hear it mentioned here before. It is a really nice medium stone - nice amount of slurry, resist dishing and good feedback.

I also realized why Atoma 400 cannot be used as a coarse stone ... it wears out after 7 to 8 sharpening sessions. Only the corners are 400 grit ... the rest of the plate are more like 800 grit. :beatinghead:

I am considering JS 300 and Beston 500 as options now.

I use a 1000 Mizuyama sharpening stone as a medium stone from sharpening and i'm getting consistent results, but i'm just a novice sharpener so i can't compare it with other medium stones as i haven't used them. I can say that i'm enjoying this stone.

Got a Mizuyama 3000 recently and really like it, nice feel to it, I am still improving my sharpening and haven't tried many other brands to compare it properly though.
