    Actually I have a colleague at work who rocks one of those. She slings me a few bucks to sharpen it for her every so often, and I have to say that is one of the most irritating cheapo steels to have ever come across my stones. The damn thing just does not want to be sharp. And frankly, as you guys have noted, the design makes zero sense.
