Here's a sampling of what's up next at Dream Burls. The top two rows are Lignum Vitae, a natural hardwood that's up there with Ironwood for density and hardness. I always sand my blanks down to a 220 grit, but somehow these blanks feel especially smooth.
The next two rows are Hopea burl otherwise known as Stone wood. Again, this species is right up there with Ironwood and Lignum Vitae for natural hardwoods. The figure on these pieces is so amazing I included a close up. My wife says they remind her of finger prints. The next two rows are some more stabilized Curly Anigre and stabilized Gabon Ebony.
Not sure when these will be in the store, probably next week. In the summer my thoughts wander to other things.
Hope you're all having a great summer.
