So I got in to work today and had two boxes waiting for me...

not so nice cell phone pic, but I will post better pictures when I can.

240mm Heiji sujihiki semi-stainless from Jon

Stephan Fowler 240mm gyuto in W2 Ironwood handle

more to come

yes there is already patina on the gyuto..... So far I am impressed with both

The fowler is on the flat side and slightly sweeps to a curve about 3 inchs from the tip.

The suji starts it curve a little sooner but I would not say it is a lot of belly.

Nice new toys Matt!
The Heiji looks like it has the perfect balance of flat at the back (what is it...4-5"?) and sweep upwards for finishing slices and walking around the board if you need it.
The Fowler looks like a push cutter's dream! Very nice stuff. I'm looking forward to the pics 2.0 :D

Damn I wish I could afford a Heiji.. But gotta put plans on hold now...

Awesome, glad to hear that it got there safe.

Can't wait to see some cutting video (hint)
