Japanese Chef is a family company from Melbourne, Australia and we directly import knives from Japan, in an attempt to keep prices for Australian customers, as close to the USA and Japanese prices as we can - in some cases, cheaper.

We've been trading online for about 8 years and have mainly dealt with western style Japanese knives until recently. We have begun to access more artisan knives, from smaller makers, especially those trying a few different things or branching out on their own from older established companies.

We currently stock:
Western Style:
Akifusa (Harayuki)
Tanaka
Sakon
Ryusen - Blazen, Tanganryu and Bonten
Nenox G, S & IW range
Maruyoshi
Misono
MAC
Fujiwara - Kanefusa
Ohishi - Tsuchime, Migaki Aogami Super
Takeo Murata
Sabatier-K in stainless AND carbon
Tojiro
Japanese Style:
Masashi-Kobo
Yoshikane
Shigefusa - what we can get
Nenohi

Buyers from outside of Australia don't pay the tax (10%) which is included in the prices on our website, which usually means the price can be the same as for Australian buyers.

Please come back and keep up to date with us, as we are expecting a number of new brands over the coming weeks and months.

Cheers all and good to be a part of KKF after lurking for all these years.

Barry & Janette
