Can anyone help me with what brand this knife is? the bottom symbol looks like one i have seen on Tojiro, but that could just be the metal/city or something. the other symbols didnt seem to match up:

not sure what brand it is, but i did sharpen it up last night. came with a missing tip, so had to do some grinding. its a yanagiba by the way. took a very very nice edge. not sure what metal but definitely carbon steel of some sort.

The reason why you recognize the last kanji, saku - 作, is because it just means production or manufactured. Most knife brands put that at the end of their names. Kind of like saying osaka joe manufacturing.

Anyways to get on to the other kanji. It can be read one of two ways.
長俊作 Nagatoshi-saku or Choshun-saku.
More likely Nagatoshi as the other one is worded strangely.

fantastic, thanks for the info. i had a feeling that last symbol was something like that.
