Had a really successful trip to Osaka, brought back with me quite a lot of photo / videos. Will process them in the coming days. I will publish some of them here :)

First up is a complete video of master Itsuo Doi (son of Keijiro Doi) forging a Sakai Takayuki Hienn from start to finish. Total 3 parts, this is part 1. Please check out the rest at my channel.

Very strange dialect of Japanese they're speaking :)

Awesome video! Thanks for sharing. I'm looking forward to the other two parts!

Haha! I was waiting to see what this dialect was going to be... Took me a second lol. It was nice to have some narration!

that was utterly unprofessional chatting. It was me and my partners speaking in mandarin. I will in the future make sure I won't chat in front of a video clip what would made its way to the public :surrendar:

thanks Huw, how did you go with the honyaki?

Thanks for the video. Hammering the tang was pretty impressive!
Welcome back

Oh no, not at all what I meant. I learned some knife vocabulary as well as the process because you guys were talking about it. :) I was being serious about narration. Obviously it's not word for word narration and you can't hear half of it, but I liked it! It's certainly not something you should worry about in any way James!

I agree, chatting isn't an issue, regardless of language. I was simply making a joke because folks would be expecting to hear Japanese in a Japanese knife shop. :D

Added some photos to the blog, please check them out :)

Check out his site, especially his Sakura line. The great stuff is already here!

James,

Are there any plans to expand the Sakura line to where it might include a sujihiki or a petty? Or is it too early to tell?
the whole line has all of these, and g3 as well but even 270 gyuto is not out. That is the current state :(
