Go to eBay and put in
Takeda Chuckabocho (yes misspelt)
Looks like someone had takeda make them a hybrid of a chuka and a deba???

Yea, wow. I would have thought Shosui would have rounded that spine profile... And it doesn't look like the stainless clad line as the seller claims, but i could be wrong on that one.
 
That's Classic line cladding, not the stainless. And yeah, I'd say this thing has had a "personal custom job" done on it.

Surely not a custom job? Probably dropped/broken at some point I reckon. Has lost a lot of blade height too if it began life as a cleaver (emoto is too short to be a menkiri I think).

Either way, looks like a POS.
 
Definitely a DIY job and probably with limited tools and skills.

It would be tempting to go for it and turn it into a Kamagata.

For 300 beans I don't want to use it for anything. Except maybe to illustrate Barnum's famous quote.
