    Phisy spam

    I just received an email that looks like phishing.
    Is this legit?

    Yeah it's legit. Paitain I believe is a gross misspelling of "patient."

    Also, you actually need to be phishing for information in order to be phishing, and nowhere in that email (which I also received) does it solicit information!

    The danger comes when the link provided is actually a phony link to a site with malware. Just because it LOOKS like a link to the real site doesn't mean that it IS a link to the site!

    When you hover over the link, it'll show you the actual destination at the bottom of either your email client or browser. So if it says "www.knifeforums.com" in the body of the email, but in your status bar it says "www.knifeforumslol.com/yougotavirusfool" you can avoid it.

    Here's an example I drew up (this is for DEMONSTRATION AND PARODY ONLY - NOT AN ACTUAL EMAIL)
