Hi all looking forward to learning and sharing. Awaiting my first Japanese knife Ryusen Tsuchime Damascus RD-5 Gyuto 210mm. Hopefully the first of many!

What is and how do I do that? Pretty new to forums and took me a while to figure out how to do a post(lost a few trying) Sounds good though.
 
Jacid: a Shig or shigefusa is a very popular knife on the forums that auzzies seem to be obsessed with. It's a bit of a running joke :) I myself may be deported at any moment as I don't own one.

Cheers Geo, and thus my neducation begins. Beautiful knives, sadly will be a while before one ends up in my paws or my better half may test the edge on something I don't want any shorter! Softly softly catchy monkey.....
