I used this recipe today and it worked good. You have to add a bit of extra flour to get the dough to be pliable and elastic. Adjust as necessary. I fried them in an old cast skillet. Great chewy airy dough. Don't over work it and she's golden color and delicious. Sorry no photos, the evidence has been eaten. I used left over food from previous dinners as the filling...baked potato, bacon bits, diced chives, and a little bit of wimpy american cheddar...not american cheese. Quite good. Add anything you like. This dough recipe is a good base to start, but do adjust a bit more flour as necessary.
1/4 cup water (hydrate yeast and add to dough)
1 cup milk
3 eggs
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 teaspoon salt
4 cups all-purpose flour
3 cups oil for frying

1 cup milk

1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 teaspoon salt
4 cups all-purpose flour
3 cups oil for frying
