Hi all,
My father is heading over to Toronto for work, and is happy to pick up a knife for me. Where, other than Tosho Knife Arts is recommended? I like Tosho but their site indicates a huge percentage of stock as sold and they are visit by appointment only.
Thanks for your help!
Joe

The visit-by-appointment time period should be over by now, and I think they're back to regular 11-6 hours now. Their site and the shop are kinda disjointed - they'll have a lot on their walls and in the displays. I've never gone in there and seen bare walls the way their site can appear. There's stuff in-store that doesn't appear on the site for a while, too.

Other than Tosho there's also Knife (http://knifetoronto.com/) and... Hacher & Krain (http://hacherandkrain.com/) though I've never been there myself.

I've never heard of Hacher and Krain, apparently it's right beside where I live, going to check it out today.

Knife and Tosho carries different brands of Japanese knives you should definitely check out both

Tosho has an impressive selection of Konosuke's

Knife has more variety of brands the last time I went.
