I've eaten many fish, including carp, processed under similar conditions in various Asian countries. One of my publishers refused to run photos of a Thai lady butchering a snake head fish because he found it so disgusting. But I ate that same fish a couple of hours later and it was great.
Anyway, it doesn't seem to be bothering these Russians.
