I am wondering if you have any experience of applying either silicone or glue for the subject line purpose; I like the shiny reflection of chiseled kanji on a kitchen knife and I like to keep the shinyness even if faces of a knife get patinaed.
Searching on internet resulted in a couple of candidates for the purpose (locktite glass glue, asi #502 silicone) but like to check on you guys for any experience.

Feedback will be greatly appreciated.

Make sure it's something you wouldn't mind eating just in case it fell off of the metal and you didn't notice it

Yup, it should be food safe. Thank you for reminding me of it.
