Out of curiosity, but does anyone around here own a Suisin Momiji in 240mm length? I was poking around online and just saw it listed on Suisin’s website.

I take it that the Momiji isn’t very common anyways, but I’m curious to find out if anyone has one and what they think of it.

Really? Is it the flex from the thinness of the blades? Or is it something else that drives you batty when sharpening these things? :)

Picture stones sliding over and barely scratching the steel, it's like trying to cut glass with a brass rod.

The deburring is even worse.

i dont know... i sharpened quite a few with no trouble at all... i spent time learning from the guy who sharpens these for suisin, so that may have something to do with it. Deburring the ginsanko ones can be difficult though. The white steel ones are A LOT easier.

I don't see the Momiji 240 on their site. Are you talking about a funayuki?

EDIT: Nevermind....
