Ugly Stuff!

These disgusting looking blocks arrived today. There are 3 sizes. Too long, too wide and too thick.
Time to get them cleaned up to see what is hiding inside.

Yeah, they'll never sell. Best send them to me for disposal.

Sorry Stefan. No purple. You will have to wait a little longer before you can make a "Barney" handle.
I got the outer crusty stuff removed.
Now to get them sanded and looking pretty.

I meant the black-purple sheen they have before cleaning... But the final colors look nice, always love the blues. And I will have to think about that Barney handle...

Mark, some of that wood looks better than what Craig Stevens sells, especially that blue/black with the gold flecks. Just gorgeous!

These blocks are posted in the web store in the Dyed / Stabilized Wood section .

In the past the dyed burl has sold out within a few hours.
But.....there are still several pieces left.
Thought I would let you all know just in case.

There are still some of these double sized blocks left priced at $55 and $60 on sale.
At first glance it may seem a little high until you look at the dimensions. If you split the block's width you get 2 blocks for handle material that should fit most kitchen or hunting knives. These blocks have the strongest figure on the edges so splitting them like I mentioned would show the figure at it's best.
