Guidelines for Buy/Sell/Trade (B/S/T) Forums (Applicable to both "Knife" and "Non-Knife" sub-forums)
Eligibility.
Members must have a minimum of 30 days and 50 posts (quality - on topic - non spamming posts) to use this forum for sales and trades, however, every member is welcome to purchase.
New: Supporting Members will have time and post count requirements waived.
*Note - When a member reaches the minimum criteria to post in the B/S/T section they will be granted the privilege automatically but not necessarily instantly. The software counters are automatically updated daily which means you may have to wait for this to happen and we ask for your patience in this regard.
This forum is for personal sales use only.
New: Product listed for sale must be in possession of member listing it. Member may not list product for a non-member. Member may not list product in transit. Member shall not list item being worked on or held by another entity.
The B/S/T forum is not to be used by Sponsors or Vendors to sell or list items/services that are business related. They shall not offer to rework, refurb, upgrade, and/or offer warranty work to/of any items being sold in the B/S/T forum nor should they comment on or talk up products that they make and/or sell.

Post Guidelines.
Thread Prefix. A thread prefix is required to post in B/S/T. It is a pre-defined text applied to a thread title. You may have noticed that this thread showed a bold red "Info Post" within the forum listings, this is a thread prefix. To post a new thread to BST the member will be required to select a prefix before the software will allow the the thread to be posted.
Here are the choices to select from when posting.
WTS = Want To Sell
WTB = Want To Buy
WTT = Want To Trade
Pricing.
Values must be listed for all knives/items being sold. USD shall be the preferred and default currency. For items listed for sale in a restricted market, e.g. Europe, the prevailing currency of that market is acceptable.
Approximate values should be listed for items offered for trade. This is for both the buyer and the seller 's benefit to establish a reference point for barter. This is not a requirement. All trade offers and subsequent bartering shall be done through PM.
Please do not delete asking prices. This provides useful historical data, discourages ‘flippers’, and helps to determine market values. KKF provides this venue for knives (and other "stuff") as a service to our members and our members overwhelmingly ask for pricing to remain accessible.
Payments - Price is to be determined using the "Goods and Services" Paypal (or other) option. Sellers are forbidden to request, or require, "Personal Payments" (aka "Gift" or "Friends and Family" option) for items being sold.
Offers - Should be made via PM only. Offers made within thread will be deleted by the moderator team.
Good etiquette suggests that the first compliant offer be accepted. However , this is not a requirement for the seller.
Bumping (aka bringing your thread to the top) - Do it a little. Don't do it a lot.
Piggyback Posting - Not allowed. Do not post items for sale in other member's sale threads. If done by members with insufficient eligibility to post in the B/S/T forum, will result in revocation of B/S/T forum privileges.
Commenting.
The B/S/T forum is not a place for jokes, comments, discussions, recommendations, or suggestions on where to purchase products. The thread belongs to the original poster, do not de-rail or threadjack.
Questions. It is not uncommon for posters to leave out key information for purchasing decisions such as blade height, length, steel, etc. Questions to clarify the item being posted are welcome.
Positive comments. Positive experiences with the seller, the knife being sold or knifemaker are welcome to the extent that they may alleviate newer members concerns about buying a knife unseen from someone they likely don't know.
Negative comments in sales threads are forbidden and will result in revocation of B/S/T forum privileges. This includes -ANY unfavorable comment on member pricing, ANY impugning comment on the perceived quality of the knife or perceived defects or ANY disparaging comment on the knife maker or original vendor/seller. This is not the place to save the world from a perceived overpriced knife.
And in case you missed it: Price policing is NOT allowed. If you do not like someone's price DO NOT COMMENT. Repeated infractions will be grounds for removal. No Dealer Sales.
Intentional violation of this guideline will result in revocation of any participation in the B/S/T forums, without further warnings or discussion.
Violations of this guideline should be reported, using the "report post" button so that they may be resolved as quickly as possible.
Closing Threads.
Member closing. The member will close the thread after the item has been sold. To close the thread members will change the thread prefix to "Sold", "Traded" or "Bought". This is the OP's responsibility. The moderator team may not be able to track each B/S/T thread through it's completion.
Policy.
Using the B/S/T forum is a privilege reserved for our active members, access to the B/S/T forum may be revoked at any time for any reason.
The administrators, moderators, and KKF owners are not responsible for possible negative outcomes that may result from any sale/trade agreements made in the B/S/T forum.
By using the B/S/T forum you're agreeing to all guidelines posted here as well as those found in the KKF Terms of Use.
Donations.
KKF accepts donations for the use of the B/S/T forum. The B/S/T forum is one of, if not, the best places to sell or acquire used high end kitchen knives. Please give some consideration to making a donation along with your sales as this money goes towards improvements, upgrades, & maintenance of KKF.
While all donations are greatly appreciated they are not expected (not mandatory). This program is 100% voluntary, no one will be monitoring or checking up on donations, it is all done in good faith.
