My friend recently bought a Suisin Hayate yanagiba, and is loving and pampering it. When he wipes it with tsubaki oil after cleaning, it leaves quite a bit of what I assume is an oxidisation on the cloth. I can't really say I've noticed it on my own knives. We are just curious as to what reaction may be happening here, we are not concerned about the knife.
