Looking to part ways with my recently acquired Shigefusa Kasumi 225mm wa-Gyuto, I just got a Kasumi wa-Sujihiki and my end game is to have one Shigefusa from each of the series, so it’s time for some tough love.

I got it from JNS late May / early June when the pre-buy and the large shipment arrived. Although it was sold as a 225mm during the pre-buy, I believe it may technically be a 210mm as it was the same price as the 210mm version, and the blade from heel to tip is closer to 210mm than 225mm, plus the box has “210 Shig” written on it. The 225mm isn’t listed anymore but you can view the 210mm here:

The knife hasn’t been used but has had the handle removed in anticipation of a rehandle to get all the tang specs prior to the sujhiki coming along, but the handle will be included with the knife (just popped off as expected with the burn in method). This wasn’t the nicest handle I’ve seen (a small gap between the body and ferrule), but a Shigefusa deserves a rehandle anyways. If you really like stock handles I’ll include the one from my Kuro-uchi Nakiri, but the tang was a different size so it may require some additional work if you decide to put it on this one.

Some specs:
Blade: 160 grams, 215mm heel to tip, 54-54mm height at heel, 4.1mm thick at heel
Tang: 96-97mm (depending on if you measure the top or bottom), 12.3mm x 5.85mm at the ferrule (17.9mm on the neck/emoto)
Handle: 28 grams, 133mm long, 23.6mm x 18.5mm at ferrule, 25.9mm x 21.4mm at end

[will be uploaded shortly]

I paid 3000DKK or just shy of $440.00USD. I’m asking $420.00USD shipped, insured with PayPal and a BST donation. This price is currently CONUS and Canada, but elsewhere will be subsidized up to the equivalent cost of CONUS.

If you are interested or would like some more information please send me a PM and we can go from there.

Thanks for looking.

Here are some pics (I'm on mobile at the moment so couldn't make the thread in the app, and using safari can be a PITA):

Price drop $410

I assume the steel question was a joke, but for the benefit of anyone who didn't know a search often turns up that it is a proprietary steel sometimes referred to as "spicy" Swedish Steel with 63-64HRC. There is also mention that it has similar characteristics to tamahagane.
