I was just checking these products out and they seem pretty ****** cool. I've seen them before in the past and just haven't really regarded them. For those of you who dont know what I'm talking about:
http://www.bakedeco.com/detail.asp?id=8409&manufacid=282
http://korin.com/Shop/Vegetable-Cutters

yeah yeah, it's cheating or whatever **** you want to talk, but it's interesting. Now WHY the HELL are they all over $200? It's a simple mechanism; you crank the handle, which turns the gears which spins the product getting lathed against the blade. I haven't seen one of these in action, so I'm wondering how the blade is controlled against the vegetable. It would be cool to have a mechanism like this that one could attach a knife to :p

They're probably $200 because they cost $50 to make, they need $50 profit, Korin takes $50, and the creator needs $50 to spend at the bar to celebrate--his wife is on his case because his job is "zucchini lathe maker".
