I just finished posting some new wood for Saya making in the store.
These sets are mirror image pairs of wood pieces that have been cut thin to be used in the making of sayas (wooden knife scabbards) and box making. This is natural untreated wood. These sets are produced by splitting a piece using a bandsaw then drum sanding to make both pieces flat and equal thickness. The pieces are then lightly sanded to 120 grit and then sprayed with a light coat of aerosol lacquer to give a bit of extra protection until you are ready to begin your project.
The different woods are Walnut, Koa, Sapelle, Redwood and Maple. Prices start at $30 and go up depending on the figure and type of wood.
Click on a photo to go where they are located in the store.
