I went to Humboldt County yesterday with a pocket full of money to get some of the good stuff. My dealer broke out some of his personal stash. I also got a few curly redwood log sections.

It may be tough to tell from the photos but this is almost all lace burl. The gray one will be lace mixed with curl. I am pretty excited about this wood.

The next photo shows what I traded for on Monday.
About 200lbs of ironwood. Not shown are a couple log sections of old yew wood.

No burl, but still good wood.

When I saw the thread title, I thought..........well, I am sure that you intended for it to have a double meaning, considering the recent "agricultural history" of Humboldt country.:lol2:

There are only 2 things you go to Humboldt to buy.
I got the legal stuff.

I have started cutting the redwood.
It is even better than I expected.
I will post some photos before I send it for stabilizing.

They had some unusual landscape plants next to the convenience store.

I posted the plants photo just for entertainment value.
They weren't really growing next to the store.
It was just a photo I found on Google.
