Along with the whole slew of other knives that came in this week, we also got one of these.
This is a Togo Reigo (vintage Swedish-style sand steel made in England) Yabagiba made by the Fujiyama blacksmiths of Konosuke-Sakai

Basically, Togo Reigo was a steel sourced from the Andrews Steel Company when Japan was going through a steel shortage. It was meant to replace Tamahagane as a purer, harder and more wear resistant alternative. We have done A LOT of testing with this steel and have found it to be somewhere between Aogami Super and White #1 in terms of edge holding and ease of sharpening.
