    Jon, how does the Maido 2k compare to a Chosera 2k? I've been curious about these stones and in particular splash and go medium and coarse stones

    in all honesty, its been a long time since i've used a chosera 2k that its hard to compare off the top of my head... i'll have to dig up my chosera and test it out again. As i recall, the speed is similar, but the maido feels harder and leaves a brighter polish. Also, it doesnt soak in water at all.

    Could you presumably use it to cut a new bevel?

    yes, but i wouldnt recommend it. Then again, i wouldnt do that on any 2k stone.
