Crutches are a pain in the backside! I busted my tibia a few years ago and ended up on crutches for 12 weeks. Most frustrating. I wish her a speedy and uneventful recovery.

    I love that tamrind handle.

The ambonya is very nice too.

Do you do many differentially hardened 52100s? How does it compare to W2 and aogami in terms of difficulty to make and hamon? Around how hard does it turn out?

Phil, I haven't done many differentially hardened 52100s , doesn't get a nice hamon , kind a beats the purpose of it , also bit tricky since it tends to get quite a reverse sori. Gets similar hardness to blue and doesn't chip easy at all even around 64hrc.
I have an integral one for Sydney show just saying

I really like the sound of a differentially hardened 52100 yanagi by you as a slicer. It seems it may be more durable than traditional carbon steels and therefore more suitable to cooked boneless proteins for those of us that don't eat a lot of raw protein.

The one you sold recently really piqued my interest timing just wasn't quite right.

Plus as you point out i already have a few with you. Hahaha
