    Sunday Funday!

Hey guys and gals. I wanted to share a few images of one of the things I have been messing with today ..

Heat treat went well on the paring blades. and the Scimitar.. I worked on this blade I have had heat treated and bouncing around the shop. Im gona call it a nakiri. But its almost a small cleaver in size. I have not hit it with the calipers yet. But I would guess its around 66mm tall.

Its High Carbon. and I am not 100% sure if its 1095 or 1084.. Either way. I RC tested it and its at 62 So I figure its hard!

Also managed to get the main grinds done on the Scimitar.

Here are a few photos Of the profile and the heel and front .. What ya think?

    Have fun and stay safe
    Randy

Good food is essential, where knives are an integral part of the process.

They are O1 and L6 and a touch of nickel in there. It is ealy damascus. The plan is to finish these out and the do a Blueing process rather then a acid etch.

If not familiar with this. Here is a image of some of Dels steel that I did this way.

You can't go wrong with Del's O1/L6 damascus.

Sunday, Funday again. Finished the Nakiri . in Ironwood Burl. Deep Dark Ironwood! I will try and get some pictures posted tomorrow.

Thanks guys for checkin out the post. I look forward to getting these Paring knives done. However. Next week is jammed full of custom orders. So probably have to wait to work on em till next Funday!

Beautiful stuff Randy! Was wondering what was lying under that incredible scimitar in some of the WIP photos ...
