Any opinion on knife or maker from South Africa?

I think it looks pretty nice, but definitely leans towards a German chef's knife profile with that belly, nothing wrong with that if it works for you. Very clean nice looking work. I'm guessing 1070 steel is similar to 1075, and at HRc 58-60, the maker is leaning a bit towards a tough robust blade, not a laser?

One thing I wonder is that the specs say full flat grind and 3mm width, if there's no distal taper, I personally don't like this type of very robust blade as a main chef's knife. Not good for some cuts like ones you'd do for dicing onions. Also potential to wedge badly in tall hard foods.

Both South Africa and Australia have numerous interesting knife makers!
