Long time lurker at KF and Freds. Grats on the new site, Dave . . . looks like this one is shaping up as the place to be for the active and knowledgeable knife nuts, and those of us who learn from you. 
I'm strictly a home cook who used to be pretty serious about it, laid off for a while, and then got back into it with a vengeance after discovering how much more fun and interesting it is when using good, truly sharp knives. Funny how one hobby feeds into another, then seemingly overtakes it.
Anyway, thanks for setting up this forum. I'm looking forward to being a part of it, though I'm sure I'll continue to do a lot more watching and learning than contributing.
