I need a go-to Italian Pasta cookbook, looking at:
Flour + Water: Pasta by Thomas McNaughton
Pasta by Hand by Jenn Louis
Mastering Pasta by Marc Vetri

Any opinions on the above would be appreciated!

I already have Babbo, Urban Italian, Marcella Hazan, and Elizabeth David's Italian, Bertolli's Chez Panisse, River Cafe cookbooks.

Go old school and try The Silver Spoon. Not cutting edge; but an huge volume of pasta recipes. it is translated from Italian, so sometimes you come across a puzzling measurement, etc.

Mark Vetri Mastering pasta is a very good book with a lot of reference in it. good stuff like gluten% in different flours etc. i would recommend that one.

I quite like Antonio Carluccio's Pasta. Simple delicious recipes.

The Silver Spoon looks great too. Haven't cooked from it yet, but have studied it a few times.

+1 for The Silver Spoon it's the bible of Italian Cooking, can't think if a dish not covered!

On puzzling measurements, Italian recipes often include the measurement "q.b."

Examples are: garlic, q.b.; salt, q.b.; saffron, q.b. etc.

Q.b. is an acronym for quanto basta, which means "just enough". In other words, add as much salt/garlic/saffron as you like to your taste.

I also have Silver Spoon and it is a really excellent resource.

Gotta agree with everyone else here! Silver Spoon is an excellent choice, but I also own Flour + Water.

I received Carluccio's Pasta yesterday and after a quick check I really like it. I found some great recipes.

As I also received 7 other cookbooks so I have a lot to do this summer ;)
