Tried to make some changes to my process to be more efficient, but didn't like the result, so reverting to the old ways of doing things, and working on replacements for those knives that went into a practice bin.

This one I managed to do last week. 255mm on the edge, cocobolo handle with a nickel silver spacer and a horn ferrule. 3mm, 2.25, 1.75 (50mm from the tip). Rigid spine, thin midsection and a super thin edge. 210g.

It has been a long time since the order for this one was placed.

These are ground, hand finished to 220 grit and now they go for some cutting test, before final finish and 'factory' edge and custom handles/sayas.

These are a typical profile 240mm gyuto, my take on a 240mm kiritsuke-shape gyuto and a 180mm petty. All in 52100.

    Some New Work Since Vacation

Some new work since vacation. A slow start, but have several knives in works.

    180mm gyuto in 52100 heat treated to 63RC, cocobolo/horn/nickel silver spacer D-handle
    225mm gyuto in 52100 heat treated to 62RC, thuya/horn/nickel silver spacer D-handle

The maker's mark placed on opposite sides intentionally.
