My girlfriend is a craft-fiend with a ton of different fabrics laying around. I asked her if she had anything "Japanese styled" to help keep my sayas together whilst in and out of my knife bag. First she took some old leather shoelace and tied them both together so that I could still operate the pins. Then she sewed some fabric together back-to-back to wrap over the leather bits...and then sewed a long ribbon of the same material to tie the whole shebang tight....no wiggles. I think she did a hell of a job.

Thanks Mr. Chance, I work in an all natural market. You wouldn't believe the stuff they deem "bruised" and throw away/donate. I'm lucky in that I get to take whatever I can carry home to cook with.
