First knife was a Sabbatier 8" chef's, acquired in 1969. That edition was too brittle, it has weathered abuse by me and various roomates. It is now about 4" long and I still keep it in one of the blocks. The steels have come a long way. I am now in the throes of acquiring some Shun Kagi SG-2's. Still need more?:scared4:
