Thanks for posting this, I've gained even more respect for the knife maker's craft.
 
This post started at just the right time.

I have been looking at the Fujiwara Denka no Hotou series they sell at Epicurian Edge. They state the core steel is agomi super but at Japanese Woodworker they say the core steel of the same series knife is blue #1 and they sell the same knife for $200 less.

Does anyone know which is the truth?
 
Thanks for posting this Dave. I just got one a 210mm Maboroshi no meito wa gyuto a couple weeks ago by him. Superb knife, and by seeing the care he puts into knives, it's no wonder.
 
Does this guy have anything to do with the fkm and fkh Fujiwara, our is the name coincidence?
