The Mac was my first non german knife, it really is a great knife for beginners. Yes it isn't a Bloodroot or Billip or Devin or Shig or Kato or ... but I recommend it to people a lot!
 
For $144. I think I might do 2 Tojiro dp or a Tanaka IMHO.

It’s silly to call them the best, but imo they are awesome for the money.
 
I also recommend Mac to many people. It's a really nice knife for the masses.
 
The older Mac's with the hole to hang them are in many house's here. They were the knife to buy available in quite a few stores. You have to look at the sites were these reviews are made, not a knife nut forum by a long shot.
