After puttering with knifemaking as a hobby for a decade - I'm looking to semi-retire in 2012 and do a lot more of it! Yes, I've enjoyed making some Bowie knives, but honestly - I haven't been in a physical fight since Junior High (these days they call it "Middle School") - - - so I'm really more interested in kitchen blades!

From the soggy green hills of Western Oregon: Greetings!!

Same thing, just a different handle. :shocked3:

No, I am just teasing.
There is a lot to learn here about what makes a really good kitchen knife.
I think you will enjoy yourself here.

Welcome, i hear that you can get some good woods from a guy in Oregon....

You can't trust people from Oregon. They tend to be all wet................

Butt welcome anyway.

Welcome Michael and congratulations!

It is official.

With your admission to being a knife maker there are now more knife and handle makers/hobbyists members on this forum than non... :D

Thanks for the greetings - and yah - there's this "burl source" guy out here? I've bought a chunk or two from him... sweet stuff!
