I've been looking at a konosuke nakiri made with damascus Gin-3. I was just looking for some input on that steel type.

Isn't Gin-3 supposed to be very similar to VG-1 and AEB-L?

not in my experience... its not as crunchy as vg1, but not quite as smooth as aeb-l on the stones. Higher carbon than aeb-l too.
