how do you etch (or bring out the contrast/finish) on your Mokume like the bolster on my Santoku?

For scientifical reasons I believe you have to post pictures of this santoku.
 
I will work on that but I dont think I can do the knife justice, it is a beauty.
 
These are pictures of the knives new, I'll take some pic's tomorrow of how they look now. The pattern comes out with age and use, truly amazing looking.

Looks like it's been brought out by flaming it, just a guess though

you can just wipe with a paper towel with some white vinegar on it or some very dilute ferric or one of the patinas from reactive metals studio.
