Excellent work, too bad they don't look more like cutting boards.

    Rick,
I don't know what wood Bob used on Jason's knife. I used fiddle back Western maple (reddish color) for the saya. It has only tung oil coat, and shellac coat is to follow. The end finish will look smooth and shiny like on the handle. I was thinking about trying to match colors on the handle, but gave up.

The wood on petty's handle is cocobolo, similar to wood I used for your Carter funayuki.

Dan, I am getting there (boards) but slowly. I should have a few finished in the next couple of weeks. These have been in works for some time now, but a next batch will include yours.

@Ucmd. If you have any questions, please email or pm me.

Jay, where you have been all this time, that you missed Kramer's craze? It's Kramer in 52100.

hehe, I thought you put a new handle on it. I didn't think it was a Kramer because who would do that to a Kramer.

    M. Awesome.

For your handles, do you put any finish on them other than buffing them?

No. Just sand them to a finer grit and buff them. Most of oily dense woods take a great polish.
