    No, it's patina. It oxidized while exposed to air. I was surprised myself. When exposed to acidic food (meat, onions), it will build up a dark blue patina quickly.

    If those are one of the knives you demoed, the food release was excellent. The owners should bill really happy with these. I have a long wait ahead of me .

    These knives arrived and they are exquisite....well worth the wait! I haven't had time to get to know the Gyuto yet. On the other hand, I had a chance to slice a few things with the Suji and I'm very impressed. My western Sujis are going to gather dust. Fantastic work Marko!
